Where the MM5 is a short adapter, the SAL-MM10 is a full metre of cable — for connecting a phone or laptop to a car AUX input, a hi-fi, a desk speaker or an amplifier, rather than to headphones.
Good to know: the built-in DAC means this works on phones that do not output analogue over USB-C, which is most recent Android handsets. A metre is the right length for reaching a car's AUX socket from a phone holder without slack across the gearstick.
